Design and create your own beautiful gemstone bracelet, with help from one of MainStreet Commons' featured artists, Lois Snelson! Match any outfit you own or make a gift using a loved one's birthstone as you choose from a great assortment of genuine gemstone beads in a myriad of colors including Amethyst, Garnet, Jade, Sapphire, Ruby, Turquoise and many more choices. Add “bling” to your creation with gold, silver, copper and bronze embellishments to accentuate your gemstones. Bring along a friend and share a fun hour creating something beautiful. After nearly a year of dedicated behind-the-scenes work, your new local Absarokee hangout is open! Grab a friend for coffee, or take part in one of our schedule classes or events. Here's what's going on currently (with more to come!): Espresso Counter: The Commons is now serving delicious espresso drinks along with a small selection of snacks. Winter hours are 9am-4pm. Grab a friend and come on down for a relaxing visit! Get Fit Exercise Class: Join ACE certified instructor Donna for a strength and cardio intervals class every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-9:30am. There is no charge for the class, but donations to The Commons are appreciated. Bring a water bottle, plus an exercise mat and some light weights if you have them. (The Commons does have some extras). Children's Story Hour: Bring your little ones every Friday at 10am for an energizing time of stories, songs, and games. Parents can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while their kids have a fun time! Do you have an idea for a class or event? Let us know via our contact form! This Saturday, December 17th, you have another opportunity to catch a glimpse inside MainStreet Commons before it officially opens in January! Join us any time from 1-3pm to see the space, enjoy Christmas music provided by local musicians, and purchase baked goods. Attention Bakers: if you are interested in selling your goods at the bake sale, please use the contact form to reserve a table. The Commons would appreciate a donation from your sale proceeds. Alternatively, some have inquired about dropping off baked goods to be sold solely for the benefit of The Commons -- if you would like to do that, you can drop your goods off on Saturday starting at 11am. MainStreet Commons will be open for a "sneak peek" on Friday, December 2nd, as part of Absarokee's Snowflake Festival! Stop by starting at 3pm for a host of activities including:
- Tours - Kids crafts - Hot drinks - Cookies - S'mores - Shopping beautiful handmade items from local artists You'll want to hang around downtown and take in all the other fun things happening during the Snowflake Festival. There will be photos with Santa at First Interstate Bank from 3-7pm and a parade at 5pm, with fireworks following. Local businesses will also be open late --be sure to pick up a merchant map to have a chance to win $500! There is also a spaghetti dinner and silent auction at the Senior Center starting at 5:30pm. Join together to kick off the holiday season! Is the beautiful snowfall getting you in the mood for the holiday season? Here's a quick look at a couple events coming up in December at The Commons: December 2nd: Snowflake Festival Sneak Peek In conjunction with Absarokee's Snowflake Festival, The Commons will be hosting its first Sneak Peek! Stop in to get a tour, enjoy some coffee or cocoa, nibble some homemade goodies, and shop handmade items from local artisans. There will be also be free crafts for kids to do! Stick around downtown as many Absarokee businesses will be open late, and there will be a parade, fireworks, and an opportunity to win prizes. December 17th: Christmas Music and Bake Sale
To keep up your holiday spirits, come down to The Commons on Saturday, December 17th to enjoy a variety of local musicians performing Christmas music. There will also be a bake sale so you can pick up some last-minute Christmas treats. Attention local bakers: if you are interested in selling your goods at the bake sale, please use the contact form to reserve a table. The Commons would appreciate a donation from your sale proceeds. MainStreet Commons is becoming a reality! The Commons has officially come to an agreement to lease 19 S Woodard Ave. This beautiful building is the perfect fit: a central location, big windows for lots of natural light, and a large common space in which to mingle with your neighbors!
