Join local artist Geri Greenwood for a fun evening of festive painting! Geri will walk you step-by-step through the process of upcycling an old picture frame into a darling winter decoration. No prior painting experience required!

Where: MainStreet Commons, 19 S Woodard
When: Tuesday, December 11th at 7pm. 
What we'll do: Paint a snowman on 8x10 glass for a "mini-window" look. 
What to bring: A hair dryer and a wood 8x10 picture frame with glass (no back necessary). Optional is an apron or painting shirt. Note: there will be some frames available if you don't have one of your own. 

There is no cost for this class, although a donation to the Commons is much appreciated!

Calling all creative members of our community! MainStreet Commons is once again hosting a community-wide wreath-making contest and silent auction. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to exercise your creativity, support a local nonprofit, and have a chance to win a prize.  Last year there were many stunning entries and we can't wait to see what you create this year! 

Here are all the details: 

• Make or decorate a wreath--any style, any material: the options are wide open, from barbed wire to burlap to traditional greenery. 
• Bring your wreath to the Commons on November 30th by 4pm. A silent auction will begin the next day; anyone may bid throughout the week and during the Snowflake Festival on Friday, December  7th. (Bidding will close at 6pm on the 7th.) 
• All proceeds from the silent auction go to benefit the Commons and helps us create even more community programs and opportunities to bring people together. 
• The wreath with the highest silent auction bids earns its maker a prize! A $50 gift card for you, and a $50 donation to the nonprofit of your choice.

Get in on the cute chalkboard decor trend and learn how to use silkscreen transfers and chalk paste to create fun signs. Yulia Stahl will lead you through choosing a design and colors to make your own masterpiece.

Announcing Summer Drama Camp for kids ages 8-12! The camp takes place on June 4-8 and is led by Melodee Skiles. Drama is a wonderful opportunity to develop confidence, communication, creativity, teamwork, and an enjoyment of storytelling. Plus, it's FUN! 
 
This week-long drama camp covers all aspects of dramatic production.  We will prepare and perform a short play as we learn about voice projection, expression, character development, and “blocking” (technical term for stage choreography) using fun games and activities. Each student will also perform a short individual recitation. 
 
The details are as follows:

• Dates: June 4-8.
• Times:  Every day from 9am to 12pm, with a performance Friday evening. 
• Location:  MainStreet Commons 
• Ages: 8 to 12 years old.
• Cost: $40 per child ($30 for additional siblings)   Some scholarships are available for those with financial need; please inquire. 
• Deadline for registration and payment:  May 10th

Melodee Skiles has lived in Absarokee for nearly 6 years. Originally from Billings, she has been involved in drama since the age of 11 and has been directing plays and teaching drama camps since 2004.

On Tuesday, March 13 at 7pm, The Commons is hosting a Home Decor Swap. Bring 2 or 3 decor items (good condition, please), and "shop" your neighbors' things to find a few new pieces for your home. This will be a fun evening and a great way to make new friends and get a little home update. Hope to see you there!
